The Beautiful Princess

The wicked Jafar served as the vizier in the Sultan’s palace. He spent his entire life yearning for the princess, like a camel yearns for an oasis, but fate had other plans! The Sultan’s daughter became the wife of the cursed Aladdin, who had earned the boundless favor of the ruler of Agrabah.

The princess’s name was Jasmine. She loved her husband dearly and was completely indifferent to Jafar. However, this did not bother the vizier! He still dreamed of having the Sultan give his beloved daughter to him as a wife. As for who loves whom or not—that was of no concern!

The Drunken Monkey

One day, Aladdin’s friend—his monkey Abu—unknowingly set up the kingdom’s first hero, that is, his master. After having a bit too much to drink, he boasted to his fellow monkeys left and right.

On one such evening, Abu told his companions about a book in which Aladdin recorded all his thefts. Jafar overheard the monkey’s tales and decided to use them for his own purposes.

A Skeleton in the Closet

The vizier learned that Aladdin was suffering from kleptomania. This strange affliction had begun back when he was stealing at the market to survive. Now, the thief had become one of the kingdom’s foremost citizens and had become quite wealthy, yet he still could not rid himself of the old habit that had turned into a pathology over time.

Aladdin kept his unusual affliction hidden from everyone except his closest friends—even Jasmine knew nothing of her husband’s peculiarities. The genie tried to find a cure for kleptomania, but to no avail. He recommended that Aladdin see a psychologist or psychiatrist, but where could he find such people in medieval Agrabah, where neither sages nor caravan traders had ever heard of them?

The Devious Vizier Acts

The kleptomaniac recorded all his thefts in a book, savoring every detail. Generally, Aladdin stole from the Sultan’s treasury, but sometimes he also targeted guests arriving at the palace. Among the kleptomaniac’s victims were foreign subjects, including the highest-ranking officials.

Jafar hired a skilled thief to steal the book. The vizier wanted to tarnish the hero’s reputation in the Sultan’s eyes—then the ruler would surely annul the marriage of his beloved daughter to this rogue! He hired a cunning thief and ordered him to obtain Aladdin’s book at any cost. Naturally, the trickster succeeded in his task…

Watching Jafar

When Aladdin boldly stole from one of the ministers visiting the Sultan on a diplomatic mission, he wanted to record his feat and reached for his secret stash to get the book, but found nothing but dust. Now he understood why the vizier had been practically glowing with happiness in recent days! Clearly, Jafar had stolen the book and was waiting for the right moment to disgrace the rival who held Jasmine’s heart.

Aladdin ordered Abu to follow Jafar. The clever monkey kept an eye on the vizier without leaving him for a minute for several days. Fortunately, Abu managed to discover where he kept the book. However, getting to his treasure trove would be very difficult… Aladdin would need another person.
