Pharaoh Ametit accomplished a great deal for Egypt – there’s an entire book detailing his deeds! Notably, the author is none other than the ruler himself. Initially, he managed without any written records.
Upon ascending the throne, the pharaoh issued several decrees within the first days of his reign to reduce taxes for craftsmen. Subsequently, he turned his attention to farmers and the military, radically transforming the laws set by his predecessors.
A golden age dawned upon Egypt. The nation thrived, its army became so formidable that neighboring territories dared not even contemplate an invasion, and the population steadily increased – in short, a true golden era ensued! All thanks to the dedicated labor of Pharaoh Ametit.
The Knocks of Memory Loss
Years passed, and the country continued to flourish. Subjects praised the gods for blessing them with such an extraordinary ruler. Meanwhile, the pharaoh began to age.
Certainly, Ametit was the earthly representative of Amon Ra, but he was, after all, a mere mortal. Over the years, his memory started to falter. He had to keep a special book to record all important information. For instance, who should face execution the following week – for one might forget about a villain, leaving them to wait for justice until eternity!

One day, Ametit summoned the high priest and commanded him to create a magical book with an infinite number of pages. The pharaoh instructed that it should not be overly thick or cumbersome – how could he carry it otherwise? Upon hearing his lord’s wishes, the priest hurried to the temple to seek assistance from the gods.
God’s Mistake
Amon Ra heard the prayers of his servant and agreed to assist. The Sun God created a magical book that he ordered to be given to his earthly representative. The priest, grateful for the divine gift, expressed his thanks to Ra until he vanished, and then hurried to the pharaoh.
Ametit was overjoyed with the special gift. However, in his haste, the mighty Ra made a typographical error – the cover bore the inscription “Book of Pharaoh,” which, nonetheless, did not diminish the value of the divine artifact. At least Ametit was in indescribable ecstasy despite the unfortunate mistake. And who would dare decline a gift from Amon Ra or accuse the father of all gods of illiteracy?!
