Cleopatra had everything—except personal happiness. Anubis decided to help…
The Golden Age
Upon ascending the throne of Egypt, Cleopatra first eliminated her enemies—those scheming behind her back, hoping to overthrow the rightful queen at the first opportunity. She then strengthened diplomatic ties with neighboring lands, fortified the army, and introduced reforms that greatly benefited the country’s internal affairs.
Nobles, artisans, and even beggars living in the gutters blessed their queen. Though the latter hardly cared who sat on the throne, even they admired Cleopatra, who became a truly legendary ruler.
A Flourishing Kingdom
Egypt prospered like never before. As Cleopatra gazed upon her flourishing empire from the palace balcony, a sudden realization struck her—she had been so consumed by ruling the kingdom that she had completely neglected her personal life. She decided it was time to find her own happiness…
Where are you, love?
Cleopatra summoned all noblemen to the palace. She wanted to find someone worthy—someone her heart would approve of. Generals, advisors, ministers, landowners, and other esteemed men came to her audience, many of whom were certainly deserving of the queen’s hand.
Yet, her heart remained silent. She hoped at least one of them would capture her affection, but one by one, the suitors left the throne room empty-handed. Love had yet to awaken.
Anubis’ Magical Gift
Cleopatra prayed to the gods, asking them to send her a true love. Anubis, always willing to help mortals, heard her plea and did not refuse the queen. He appeared in Cleopatra’s chambers and bestowed upon her a book—a mystical artifact that could grant three wishes to its owner.
Leaving the enchanted treasure on her bedside table, Anubis returned to the realm of the gods. Excited, Cleopatra grabbed the powerful artifact and flipped through its pages, reading instructions on how to use it. The magical incantations were listed at the beginning, while the rest of the book contained detailed guidance in every language known to man. A note at the bottom read: “Wishes are granted literally!”
Two Small Mistakes
Cleopatra read the instructions in ancient Egyptian and recited the spell, eagerly awaiting a miracle. Indeed, Anubis did not deceive her—within moments, a handsome young man appeared in her chambers. However, he was not particularly well-built, and worse yet, he was shockingly unintelligent!
Cleopatra handed him over to the royal steward, instructing him to find a suitable position for the young man, and tried again. This time, a strong, intelligent, and breathtakingly handsome athlete appeared before her—the kind of man who could make any married woman forget her husband!
However, there was one problem—his manhood, the one men carry below the waist, was far too small for someone meant to rule all of Egypt… Once again, Cleopatra summoned the royal steward and passed along yet another failed suitor.
Curse That Dwarf!
Determined, Cleopatra made one final wish. This time, she phrased it with absolute precision!
But alas, cursed be Set—she forgot to specify height… The man who appeared was every woman’s ideal, except that even ten-year-old children would tower over him.
The Magical Book Awaits Its Next Owner
Furious, Cleopatra spat in frustration and sent for the royal steward yet again. With no other choice left, she resigned herself to marrying Julius Caesar. Though the Roman emperor was a bit old, he excelled in every other way.
Years have passed, yet the book Anubis gifted Cleopatra remains lost to this day. Perhaps you will be the one to find this legendary artifact right now!
