The Story Behind Cygnus 2
A rich man died and left an inheritance. However, his relatives would receive the millions only after they solved the most difficult puzzle…
Historian and Astronomer
One fine day, Mr. Morrison was born! He became a historian and studied astronomy – this science became his favorite pastime.
Morrison spent hours sitting by the telescope and making calculations, bent over star maps. Being a successful scientist with a certain standing in the scientific community, he could afford a large house that even had room for an observatory.
Master of Puzzles
Morrison had another passion – puzzles, which he loved to the point of madness! He really wanted to place riddles of all kinds everywhere possible. This applied both to his own life and to those close to him.
Morrison’s wife had to run all over town to find her wedding ring. When her beloved proposed to her, she agreed without hesitation. However, the bride had to solve a whole series of puzzles to find the wedding ring. Only then did they exchange rings.
Death of a Beloved Father and Husband
The Morrison couple lived a long and happy life. They had a son and a daughter; the head of the family made a career, and the wife was a wonderful spouse!
Then came the sad day when Morrison died. The grief of the terrible loss enveloped all family members like a black veil, and only the forthcoming inheritance somewhat softened the pain of the irreparable loss, like a ray of light breaking through utter darkness.
Such was the will of the deceased…
On the appointed day, Morrison’s wife and children came to the executor of the late head of the family. Imagine their surprise when they learned that their father and husband had managed to “stand out” even after death! He left a will with a condition: the heirs must solve a puzzle he had been working on for five whole years – it was obvious this was a devilish riddle, and only the devil himself could solve it!
The executor had no right to violate the will of the deceased. Of course, Morrison’s wife and children begged him to spare them from solving their father’s puzzles, but alas, he could not break the law. The executor gave them the last instructions left by the deceased, and it began…
Devilish Dad
For a whole week, the Morrisons ran around the city completing the craziest quests prepared by their beloved “dad.” The family remembered him so often that he would probably spin in his grave like a top. It seemed Morrison anticipated such a turn of events, which is why he chose cremation.
The poor heirs had to do all sorts of things! They climbed the tallest trees, put their hands into the mouth of a lion that was previously sedated, dived to the bottom of a deep river, and performed other stunts at their “dad’s” whim. Toward the end of the series of puzzles, the children regretted that their father had not passed away a little earlier, before inventing this crazy trial. Meanwhile, the late Morrison’s wife blamed herself for her loyalty to this “scoundrel,” although she could have cheated on him left and right.
An Entertaining Game
Finally, they reached the home observatory. Night came, stars lit up in the sky, the Cygnus constellation shone, and the heirs managed to find a safe with some strange game, but they still did not know what to do next.
Of course, everyone tried to figure out how it worked, but no one could understand the original system. Help them solve the last puzzle and receive a part of Morrison’s inheritance!
