The Predatory Kitty
Once, the animals gathered to ascertain who among them was the mightiest. The lynx asserted this title the loudest, growling and yowling, though not like a domestic cat, but rather like a ferocious beast from which it was wise to keep one’s distance!
The predator was indeed very dangerous! It would silently stalk from behind, leap onto its prey’s neck, and sink its sharp teeth into the throat, leaving no chance of survival. For smaller animals, the lynx was a true nightmare…
The Fearless Boar
However, the wild boar had a different perspective. Possessing a magnificent snout adorned with enormous tusks, he regarded the lynx as nothing more than a slightly agitated house cat.
Moreover, the wild boar was unafraid even of humans! Of course, when a man with a gun appeared nearby, he preferred to sit quietly, avoiding unnecessary exposure of his snout. Otherwise, he risked catching a bullet of a larger caliber that could send the oinking giant to the realm of deceased pigs.
The Swift Escaper
The saiga antelope feared neither the boar nor the lynx. He could always escape danger with a cheeky gesture of his tongue. The saiga easily climbed to the steepest heights and taunted from above those creatures wishing to claim his hide.
The only beings he shunned were humans brandishing rifles. The two-legged ones climbed the hills slowly; however, a bullet could reach anywhere. And humans joyfully hunted saigas for their hides, meat, and massive horns, which they would then hang on their walls at home, often alongside the heads of their quarry.
The Night Watcher
The owl was well aware of everything that transpired at night. While most animals and birds slept, she hunted. The owl knew about every occurrence in the nocturnal world. She was privy to whom the bear mother visited when her mate was lost in a deep slumber, sucking on his paw, and many other secrets she preferred to keep to herself for the time being.
But the owl knew that sooner or later, the compromising information at her disposal would play a decisive role. However, that time had not yet come.
The Winged Braggart
An eagle flying by overheard the debate. He was astonished at what miserable creatures could possibly ponder, fated to tread the ground! The eagle landed and introduced himself as the sole contender worthy of being called the coolest! For no one, except him, was capable of soaring to the sun or a storm cloud.
The animals immediately implored the eagle to demonstrate his skills. He began to regret showing off his beak; however, fortune favored him as a storm commenced! As for reaching the sun, the eagle had exaggerated; the unrecognized lord of the skies knew that it always retreated, no matter how hard one flew toward it.
When Things Don’t Go as Planned
Nevertheless, he could certainly afford to perform acrobatics in the tempestuous sky. After all, he was an eagle, not a fledgling chick worried about tumbling out of its nest!
The eagle soared high into the sky, skillfully maneuvering among the lightning flashing above. As he flew past an electrified cloud, he miscalculated his flight—suddenly, the wind changed, and the winged pilot found himself right in the center of the storm…
The Might of the Eagle
By some miracle, the eagle survived, despite the colossal force of the strike! It is terrifying to imagine how much electric current coursed through his body in mere moments!
However, now the eagle had learned to shoot lightning. No one dared contest the title of the coolest beast anymore. All the animals acknowledged that none were more powerful than the eagle!
