When one grows weary of engaging in banditry, it is time to rob a bank! However, meticulous planning is essential to avoid a predicament, much like Joe and his crew…
Dangerous Slackers
There exists a particular breed of individuals known as slackers and layabouts. Generally, they do not pose much of a problem, at least until they decide to pick up arms.
Joe, Nick, Malcolm, and Boots, of course, have taken this step. They were eager to live extravagantly, but money was crucial for that. Yet, where can one acquire cash when born a lazy good-for-nothing…
However, the guys were not entirely clueless. They were doing quite well in the realm of crime. The group stole cars and occasionally robbed stores or offices of small firms that were reluctant to invest in proper security.
Cursed Cops
Banditry turned out to be a challenging and, most importantly, a highly dangerous endeavor. Once, the police nearly apprehended the entire gang, but fortunately for the guys, Nick was a driving prodigy who managed to escape the chase in an unimaginable manner – he performed so many incredible maneuvers that it was simply mind-boggling! The simplest of these was driving against traffic, which terrified everyone unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity on that day when Highway 82 intersected Kingston Road.
How long can one dodge bullets…
One day, Boots was shot! A cop shot him in the leg so badly that he had to undergo months of recovery. Had the bullet been just an inch higher, poor Boots would have been forced to walk with a cane for the rest of his life.
After that incident, Joe seriously contemplated their next steps. He understood that sooner or later, they would all be incarcerated or killed. Perhaps some might be fortunate enough to live to old age, but such an outcome was highly unlikely.
The Big Score
None in the crew possessed the skills to earn money, leaving them with no options. There was only one solution – to execute a significant heist that would provide enough funds for a lifetime and allow them to retire from the criminal world while it was still feasible. The others agreed with old Joe’s reasoning, especially Boots – he knew firsthand what it was like to take a bullet.
A Juicy Target for Bandits
Joe had his eye on a bank owned by an Italian. It was small, yet it boasted a vault brimming with gold and client funds.
The security was mediocre – evidently, the owner relied more on cameras, the police, and a small squad of youngsters with weapons who resembled former cops. Not the dangerous types depicted in thrilling action films, but rather clumsy doughnut-wielding goons. Perhaps that was why they were former officers.
Joe recognized that this bank was a prime target. If everything went smoothly, they could seize a fortune in cash and gold! Then, they could live comfortably, leaving their criminal past behind.
The Heist Begins!
On the designated day, a car halted at the entrance of the bank. It was evening, rain poured down, and thunder rumbled, so everyone paid little attention to the vehicle that turned the corner, screeching its tires.
There were almost no clients in the bank, which significantly simplified the hostage situation – four masked gentlemen burst into the lobby, brandishing weapons, and forced everyone, including two guards, to lie down on the floor. One of the local sentinels suddenly decided to perform his duties, but a bullet lodged in his hand greatly diminished his enthusiasm.
And Here Comes the Lock…
Malcolm and Nick stood guard over the people downstairs. Joe and Boots hurried upstairs. The guys blew open the door to the vault, but there were indeed two doors, and the second one appeared as if it could withstand even tank fire.
The only way to bypass this obstacle was a code that needed to be entered by spinning the dials. Only the manager and the owner knew it – neither of whom were present in the bank…
The police would be arriving soon, and the guys should hasten to avoid rotting in prison for the next thirty years. They would be immensely grateful if you could help them tackle the damned lock! Naturally, you would be rewarded…
