Best Specialist
Charlie worked at the factory for many years. As any good engineer should, he knew everything possible about production machines. Charlie launched new lines, adjusted machines, improved the technologies for making “treats,” and was generally well-respected.
The factory, to which he devoted many years of his life, processed fruits. Every day, tons of jam, preserves, juices, marmalade, and other wonderful things essential for sweet lovers came off the conveyors of the huge enterprise.
The Man Who Taught Shoemakers to Swear
Charlie had one flaw – he could not stand being disturbed while working! If anyone tugged at his sleeve, tapped his back with a finger, or simply called loudly right into his ear, that person would immediately learn the whole “truth” about themselves.
The talented engineer had great abilities not only in his chosen profession but also in foul language. When people heard Charlie swear, shoemakers would take out notebooks to write down his unique pearls. We will not provide examples here for the sake of decency, although some epithets and quotes definitely deserve canonization.
When You Are Constantly Disturbed
One day, Charlie was standing by a machine and writing something, calculating to himself the feasibility of further using that equipment. He made a few mistakes and, muttering, started over. Then some unfortunate person interrupted him again by lightly tapping his shoulder…
Charlie began yelling, listing all his titles, exploits, merits, and, of course, mentioning that person’s mother, as well as the intimate life of that respectable lady, and much more. He did not even bother to turn around, thinking, ignoring yet another idiotic joke – colleagues often interrupted him when he was counting something for a long time and diligently.
An Unpleasant Surprise or Get Out of Here!
But it was the workshop manager in person who decided to take a walk through his domain. Charlie greatly surprised the boss – he had never heard anything like that from subordinates! In short, the master of obscene language faced a severe punishment – dismissal and a fine for violating corporate ethics, which was deducted from his severance pay.
Sitting at Home, Charlie Did Not Know What to Do
Finding a new job with good conditions turned out to be not so easy because cozy vacancies rarely became available. So he decided to prove to everyone what a great specialist the big boss had lost, whose delicate ears were so wounded by curses that he even fired one of the best workers…
His Own Fruit Factory
Over the years, Charlie stole a bunch of parts. That metal was quite enough for one production line. At first glance, it seemed very little, but the equipment created by the engineer from God became universal – it processed fruits into jam, preserves, pastila, fruit butter, marmalade, and other sweets.
The home factory turned out to be remarkably productive despite the relatively small scale of production. The equipment was started by a coin – Charlie dropped a coin into a special receiver, and the grand machine came to life. It might seem like a strange method, but it worked anyway. Don’t believe it?
