Earthlings discovered the planet Suricus, inhabited by Gargantoons. Now Professor Pritikl and his team of scientists must study these unusual creatures.
Journey to Suricus
The First Space Institute discovered the planet Suricus, located a thousand light-years from Earth. Naturally, scientists wanted to explore it thoroughly.
The institute’s leadership sent an expedition there, including the best minds of the planet, led by Professor Pritikl. By the way, he was entrusted to head the workgroup.
Amazing Creatures
The scientists had a lot of work ahead. The primary task was to study the local inhabitants.
Planet Suricus was inhabited by strange creatures unlike any seen by humans either in their galaxy or neighboring ones. They communicated using a form of speech, but even the universal decoder that humans had used for over a century failed to understand their strange language.
What the Probes Found Out
According to reconnaissance probes, the inhabitants of Suricus were generally friendly creatures. However, conflicts sometimes arose between them — during these, the stronger emitted pulsating energy clusters resembling black ones that absorbed the weaker individuals.
Most aliens had one eye; less often, there were those naturally endowed with two eyes. However, the strongest could have three eyes when they absorbed too many aggressive peers.

The native inhabitants of Suricus differed in shape and color. They reproduced by budding. Clear sexual characteristics were absent, or perhaps they simply did not exist at all.

Brave Marines served science
Later, scientists discovered that Gargantoons — as they named these unusual creatures — turned out to be very agile! It seemed impossible to catch them! No matter what you did, they escaped, giggling merrily.
The scientists had to ask security forces to do their job. Somehow, the military managed, running back and forth for a good half of the day.
A problem arose!
The marines managed to catch many multicolored specimens. Part of the Gargantoons was subjected to spectral analysis on-site. It turned out that the funny creatures’ bodies contained a large amount of biological material that would undoubtedly be useful to Earthlings for various studies.
But suddenly one problem appeared: extracting valuable resources was impossible — upon dissection, Gargantoons disintegrated into molecules! The contents of the alien organism evaporated…
