Gold Trio: Sindbad’s Riches Plot

Gold Trio: Sindbad’s Riches Plot

The Story Behind

Sindbad set out in search of a mysterious island. Who knows if he will return home now or perish in the depths of the sea…

Beautiful Kailina

Many have heard of the adventures of Sindbad the sailor! In fact, there were so many that they could not be counted. Today, you will learn about one of them, you could say, right now!

One day, Sindbad met the beautiful Kailina on the street. He fell in love with her at first sight, and the girl returned his feelings. That very day, Sindbad went to her father’s house to ask for her hand in marriage.

Away with poverty!

Kailina was the daughter of a wealthy merchant. Compared to him, Sindbad seemed poor. The father of the beauty, being very wealthy, wished to give his daughter only to another rich man. Alas, Sindbad could not boast of chests of precious gems: piles of gold, diamonds, and other shining equivalents of material wealth were not really his thing…

Kailina’s suitor was driven away from the yard. The merchant forbade the guards to let him into the house until he became rich. Sindbad had no choice but to drown his sorrow in the company of friends, following an old male tradition that has existed for more than two thousand years.

In Search of Golden Mountains

A friend named Talip, who was a sailor, told the upset companion a legend about the distant island of Skalif – where mountains of gold lie everywhere waiting to be taken. Realizing his situation, Sindbad understood that only the legend, if true, could help him. Unfortunately, no one knew where Skalif was. Talip only knew one thing – they had to sail east…

The next day, Sindbad and his friends chose a ship in the port and safely set sail at night. Of course, they had to get the guards drunk and leave them on shore, but that was easy – no guard would refuse wine that could be spiked with anything.

Where are you, Fairy-Tale Island?!

The ship sailed for three days. By then, Sindbad was slowly losing his newly found optimism. He was worried about only one question: why had Skalif not been found yet if sailors had plowed half the world’s waters? Talip reassured him, promising success awaited them all. Besides, he reminded him of the other half of the world sailors had yet to explore.

Three weeks passed. Skalif was nowhere on the horizon. Instead of success, the crew faced a storm so fierce that surely even the sea god was frightened. The ship was smashed to pieces. The entire crew drowned except for Sindbad, who was washed ashore on a rocky island by the waves.

Great Honor

There, the hero was taken in by locals, cheering and hooting. They were very happy for Sindbad, who was lucky to arrive on their island on the day of the dragon Miltyf – a mighty creature who would honor him by devouring him on the sacrificial altar. The shipwreck survivor protested with all his might, but no one listened.

Soon, he lay tied on the altar, screaming for mercy. Miltyf, seeing the screaming meal, asked why he was not glad to receive such an honor. Sindbad begged the dragon to release him and told him about all the misfortunes that had befallen his much-suffering turban.

Stealing Under Cover and Without Witnesses

Miltyf shrugged and ordered the release of the fool who refused the fate of a sacred meal. The dragon commanded that Sinbad be given a small boat and released.

Only later did he discover the disappearance of three magical pots of gold when Sindbad was already far from the island. Miltyf did not chase after him but only ordered his servants to kill all strangers who might be blown to the island in the future.

Happy Ending and Wedding

Sindbad returned home. Still at sea, he learned about the magical properties of the pots – the gold inside never ran out! He gave up searching for Skalif and decided it was time to marry Kailina. As for that island, who knows where it is or if it even exists at all…
