Once upon a time, there lived a kitten named Bax. He was small, snowy white with brown spots — an absolute little charmer! He was bought especially for a little girl who had been begging her parents for a pet.At first, the young animal lover wanted a lion, tiger, or even an elephant, but in the end, her parents only agreed to get her a kitten. Still, she was very happy because Bax was such a sweet little companion!

The little girl spent her days playing with her gift as if it were a mere toy. The poor kitten didn’t know where to hide from his relentless tormentor!
Fortunately, the house was full of cosy hiding spots. Sadly, sooner or later, the little girl would always find the mewing “toy” again and resume squeezing the kitten with all of her might…

One fine day, Bax decided to run away. Yet, he couldn’t think of anywhere to go or what he would do with himself.
After all, he had everything he could wish for at home: his owners fed him delicious meals three times a day and provided him with a cosy little house lined with a soft blanket. To top it all off, he even had his very own litter tray!
An Unwilling Thief
Bax was determined not to become one of those bitter stray cats roaming the streets, rummaging through rubbish bins for foul-smelling scraps. The little fluffball understood that life outside meant getting caught up in fights, theft, violence, murder, and other grim “delights” without which survival was impossible. He grasped a simple truth: it was better to steal once and then lead an honest life than to spend one’s days committing crimes just to survive. With that in mind, he pilfered a portion of his owners’ savings.
Bax fled, taking a considerable sum with him. The money “borrowed” from his owners was just enough to start his own venture — the kitten became the proprietor of a café and enlisted two assistants, both of whom fate had also forced from their homes. One couldn’t tolerate the damned dog his owners had brought home, while the other was cast out for being useless — in plain terms, he had simply worn out his welcome.
When Money Talks
Bax opened a café that served only cats. Dogs were strictly forbidden! However, their four-legged clientele had little money to spare. Reluctantly, Bax and his assistants allowed humans to come in for a cup of coffee. Soon after, they even welcomed them for breakfast and eventually permitted them to become regular customers.
After all, two-legged patrons were far wealthier than cats… and not all of them were bad. Take, for instance, the parents of the little girl who had troubled Bax — they were truly decent people.
Treats for Every Occasion
The variety of the café’s menu amazed everyone without exception. Donuts, pastries, coffee, tea, juices, biscuits, and much more — everything a sweet tooth could desire and then some!
New dishes and drinks frequently appeared on the menu, so guests could always indulge in the latest delights. The only thing the café didn’t offer was alcohol. Then again, strong drinks were hardly ever requested.
