One day, his daughter was walking through a narrow street when she was struck by a speeding chariot. A healer fought for hours to save her, but he couldn’t keep her soul in the land of the living. That same evening, Patikutri’s daughter passed away.

Desperate, the priest begged the gods to bring his daughter back. She had died because of some reckless charioteer—was this truly her fate?
Anubis took pity on his faithful servant and agreed to help. The ancient god descended into the world of the living, bringing with him the Book of the Dead—a record of all those who had passed on. In truth, this was only one of many volumes, but why burden a mere mortal with such details?

When Patikutri finally reached the sanctuaries, a troubling thought crossed his mind: where would he find a suitable sacrifice? The temples, long buried in sand, stood silent and desolate. There weren’t even fruit trees in sight! But the gods favored blood sacrifices, so he needed to find an animal…
Just as he had this thought, a loud bleating sounded behind him. Turning around, he saw two rams, standing calmly as if waiting for their fate. Grateful to Anubis, Patikutri offered the sacrifice at both temples.

Anubis appeared once more, holding the Book of the Dead in his hands. He handed Patikutri a magic quill and pointed to the page where his daughter’s name was written.
